Celtx It's pronouced "Kell-tex". It's basically a free (as far as i can
tell) version of Final Draft... but with more
You can build outlines of film projects with images, screenplays,
text completion, script styles, spell checking, pdf output, etc...
It also keeps track of props, characters, etc... all in a database.
it also lets you easily share and collaborate with people on the net.

I've tallied up the votes....
...and the comic book style DVD label won. I will experiment with some further tweaking and share the results. The DVD spindle should be showing up by next week at least. So the next pics might be of what the image looks like printed on the actual media. Is there anyone who wants to try their hand at an actual comic style interpretation? If we switch to actual art, it doesn't even need to stick with the fishman/bikini girl scene. If I don't hear anything from anyone, I will just go ahead with what I have. | | Sunday, May 28th, 2006 | 11:01 am [spinning_grave]

Enter the Dagon DVD Labels
I found out that I can print out samples on paper of how the DVD labels will look when I burn them to disc. Here are the first two concepts: #1 #2 I tried some other pics, screen captures and the EtD illustration from the shirts. None of the others I used looked good at all because of the hole in the middle. What do you guys think of these two? Any other image suggestions? Thoughts on font, etc? I used Orpheus for the title and Times New Roman for the rest. | 6:23 am [spinning_grave]

Scott Rules! :)
First off: He finished the Enter the Dagon DVD and it looks great. Secondly: I purchased a Lightscribe DVD burner and installed it so we can self-publish our DVDs with nice-looking labels that don't peel off or jam players. Upon installation of the burner my PC gave me the message that the harddrive had failed. I proceeded to freak out and made a panicked call to Scott. Luckily the problem was easily fixed by instructions Scott gave over the phone to the monkey on my side of the phone line. We now have a working Lightscribe drive in a working computer. I have created two prototype DVD covers for EtD. I wish I could share them on-line, but I don't think I can. One design has the lead fishman chasing a bikini girl. The other design is the group photo the Emcee, Jimbo and Kim Wang Seng. The fishman label has the fisman on one side of the DVD hole and the bikini girl on the other. The group shot label places the DVD hole right in the middle of Gil's torso, unfortunately obliterating most of the gore of the Jimbo costume. It is the more colorful of the two covers though. I'm going to try photoshopping together a few other ideas. I think a montage might be too cluttered for the space of a DVD label, but maybe something simple like having Stuart Corman on one side of the hole and Crispin Eldritch on the other side. I have the drive, but not the media for it yet. So I can't burn copies just yet. As soon as I can, I will burn copies with the label options, take pics of the labels and post them up here for input. Mic Zeppelin Another project... A DIY Mic Zeppelin.
I didn't know these things were called zeppelins either. It's a huge fluffy
wind cover for a microphone. :) | | Thursday, March 16th, 2006 | 11:00 am [jerronimo]
